Movement interventions for patients in palliative care
Dopitová, Debora ; Kovařovic, Vojtěch (advisor) ; Hošková, Blanka (referee)
Title: Pohybové intervence u pacientů v paliativní péči Objectives: The aim of the systematic research was to find out and summarize, on the basis of the available literature, the benefits of movement interventions for oncologically ill patients in palliative care and to summarize the specific possibilities of movement interventions for these patients. Methods: The bachelor's thesis was prepared in the form of a literature search. A total of three literature databases - PubMed, Web of Science, EBSCO - were selected for the bachelor's thesis and were systematically explored using keywords that were purposefully chosen to answer the research question. A total of 599 studies were identified in the basic search, of which 7 were identified using a manual search. After removing duplicates, a further 586 studies were excluded. The final number of search titles was 15 studies. Results: A total of 15 studies were selected. In these studies, exercise interventions for cancer patients in palliative care have been identified as beneficial and have been evaluated to have a positive effect, particularly in improving physical fitness, mobility, dyspnea, sleep, muscle strength, independence, quality of life and reduction of fatigue, anxiety, depression, neuropathy and hemoptysis. The most represented movement...
Incidence and management of muscle imbalances in physically active and inactive populations: Objective rehabilitation solutions for populations with nonspecific back pain
Šmejkal, Jiří ; Zeman, Václav (advisor) ; Topolčan, Ondřej (referee) ; Kálal, Jan (referee)
v anglickém jazyce: Incidence and management of muscle imbalances in physically active and inactive populations: Objective rehabilitation solutions for populations with nonspecific back pain Summary Totally 258 patients with chronic low back pain aged 51,5 +8,4 years were treated for three weeks in the Rehabilitation Centre focused on lumbar back pain. We observed incidence of muscle dysbalances and accomplished their exact objectiveness using the Tergumed system. We tried to compare and solve their mutual influence during the rehabilitation treatment. We compared differences between physically active and physically inactive population, the impact of total motivation, age and other factors on the improvement of strenght, motion, dysbalances and total pain relief.Significant improvement of movement and muscle strenght p <0,001 were documented on the Tergumed in three weeks. The physically active population and patients motivated.by using the Tergumed preferred active exercises to passive therapy. We also observed improvement in finger-floor distance and reduction of pain, documented by the visual analogue scale, decrease in body weight and cholesterol level (p <0,001). In three- week observation nor significant changes in muscle dysbalance, neither their differences according to sex,age ,chronical...
Rehabilitation in lung transplant candidates
Jordáková, Magdalena ; Babková, Lenka (advisor) ; Obešlo, Marek (referee)
Lung transplantation is the method of treatment for patients with end-stage lung disease. The main theoretical part of this bachelor's thesis is focused on the possibilities of rehabilitation in lung transplant candidates. This rehabilitation concept includes patient's education, individually designed exercise program, techniques of respiratory physiotherapy, nutrition therapy and psychological support. The practical section of this bachelor's thesis incorporates a case report of a lung transplant candidate who underwent 4 months of preoperative rehabilitation program. Tha main difference after completing preoperative rehabilitation was found in maximal inspiratory muscles strength, which increased of 17,71 cmH2O.
Movement therapy in the residential substance abuse treatment
Adamíková, Žaneta ; Bitnar, Petr (advisor) ; Janečková, Alexandra (referee)
This thesis is a discussion of the possibilities of using movement therapy as a complementary method within the context of medium-term or long-term institutional treatment of addictions. It is divided into 3 parts. The objective of the first part is to describe the basic concepts and to disseminate the information regarding addiction consequences and its causes. It also includes epidemiological data, a deconstruction of the system of medical care, and the basic tools used in the substance abuse treatment. Complementary to this, special parts map the possibilities of the use of physical activity involving body-oriented methods. It's objective is to detail the effects of these methods on patients. The positive effects highlighted by my thesis are the reason why the movement interventions should be used as a part of the complex treatment. In the second part, common illnesses that lie among addicted people are further examined, mapping the treatment of these diseases through the use of physical therapy. The practical, third part involves the qualitative data and contains the case report of a patient who is dependent on several addictive substances and is currently undergoing the treatment in a psychiatric hospital. Her medical and drug history, individual therapy, including kinesiological analysis,...
